1. Hi Marcus, greetings from Czech republic where Siebenbürgen has many followers, me included. I´m truly delighted with a news about the ressurection of the band and with the chance of seeing you live. How come that a new fervour came and who are the new members?
Thank you!
Well its great to be back. I have really missed the time with the band. But I think this break was good for us. Because we have had time to think through what we want and to delete bad energy from the band.
As soon as the new album is out (release date 23 of May) we will hopefully go on tour again. That will be really fucking amazing.
2. I´ll take a look a way back. There are two demos and one live recording preceding "Loreia" album acording to Encyklopedia metalllum but I haven´t found any info about it elsewhere. I must confess that I would like to obtain those recordings for I have the strong affinity to the old creations. What about putting them on internet, or making them accesible somehow?
Unfortunately we are prohibited to release those recordings right now due to legal reasons. I have the two Demos here, but not the live-tape. It is forever lost.
It was actually our very first show that was recorded, and the only live performance together with the violinist and female vocalist Lovisa Hallstedt.
I think that tape hade 6 songs or something. We just released it for fun, but it sold a number of copies.
3. Here, on my table are lying all your albums, one jewel next to another, but "Grimjaur" has carved deepest into my heart. It´s my first and most listened to. It has quite veiled but impressive sound, fueled with strangely poisoning feel, characteristic melodies and mostly with remarkable Swedish vocal. Your presentation of swedish digs deeply into flesh, I consider this as one of the strongest Siebenbürgen element. It would be great if you put more swedish on future Siebenbürgen´s works. What´s your relation with the "Grimjaur" album?
I really don't like the album ”Grimjaur”. It is so much things that I'm not satisfied with on that album. The material is good tough, if we should re-arrange them. But the recording itself is really bad. I don't like the sound and we didn’t perform very well on that album. I remember that I was sick as hell during that recording, hehe.
I haven‘t finished the lyric work for the upcoming album yet, so right now I really don‘t know if there will be any Swedish lyrics yet. We will have to see I guess.
4. On albums female vocals are prominent. You changed three female vocalists if I am correct. Please, tell something about all of them, where they are playing now, if you are still in contact. I am especially interested in Lovisa Hallstedt ´cause I didn´t find any info about her. Do you plan to add female vocals on next album?
The biggest change this time is that we will not use a female vocalist on the new album, we will only have a session vocalist for liver performances.
To fill the music with atmosphere we have a keyboardist as one of the members, Johnnie Gunther, he is really amazing.
I have no contact with our previous female vocalists at this time. So I really don‘t know what they are up to these days.
Lovisa Hallstedt was never a member of Siebenbürgen, she only joined us for the recordings of the demos and our 2 first albums. I haven‘t spoken to her since -98.
5. Are you in contact with previous band members? What are they doing nowadays?
I have no contact with any previous members of Siebenbürgen.
6. Your art fascinates me since begginings and from begginings it influenced my own music. I recorded with one of my projects your song "Mardröm", I tried to mimic swedish pronunciation without knowing how but I knew the lyrics. I am quite curious if I messed it up or not. You can download it here http://stiny.sheafraidh.net/warforwar/mardrom.mp3
Wow :-). This was really a good cover version of „Mardröm“. Your pronouncement is really good too. And your voice is kicking ass!
I like it.
7. What are yours musical influences? I think that you´ll mention Judas Priest...
Yes that’s correct. I still listens to and get inspired from the same music that I listen to when I grew up. Wasp, Priest, Iron Maiden, Manowar and stuff like that.
8. CD of Devlin project also lies on my table. That manuscript is incommutable, it´s easy to find out who wrote it. How important is Devlin for you now? Didn´t you have a idea to continue with it?
Devlin is on ice, it didn’t turned out as I expected it. And right now I don’t have any plans to start the project up again.

9. I have to ask on Grand illusion too, I like this four-piece promo. Your writing style here is nicely recognizable too. Can we expect some official album?
Not now, if we get some time besides Siebenbürgen I hope that we will release something with GI. But nothing is decided yet.
10. How the fans accepted "Darker Designs & Images" album, and what do you personally think about it? I mostly rejoiced with some ties to your oldest outputs, for example "of blood and magic" reminds "Grimjaur" with it´s tempo and composition. Was this an intention?
DD&I; is really my favorite album, the production could have been better, but the material is really great. The reactions on the album was as usual split, haha, it seems that you are either with us or against us.
I don‘t think it was intentional that Of Blood & Magic sounded a bit “grimjaurish“ but I think you have a point there.
11. Black metal music can be felt in Siebenbürgen music, more or less but always with it´s distinguished face. Are there still some Black metal bands that you like? Some years later now disbanded czech group Master´s Hammer came into recognition, have your ever heard about them?
I have always liked Immortal. But I enjoy bands like Dimmu Borgir, Cradle of Filth and early Mayhem.
Yes, I know Masters Hammer, I have a tape somewhere from the first album, but it was a long time since I heard them. I remember that I really liked them back then.
12. Do some live video recordings exist? I saw only "Majesties infernal" but in poor quality.
We only have some fan recordings, but nothing official.
13. Thank you for your valuable interview and I look forward to the new album, I hope that it won´t took long. I wish Siebenbürgen luck and more Dark metal from you. Whatever you have in mind you can write...
Thank You! It was my pleasure to answer your questions.
If everything goes as planned we will start the recording of our new album „Anno Diaboli“ the first of March. The release date is set to the 23rd of May. Hopefully it will be ready then, haha.
Look out for our new killer album and stay fucking metal!!!
