Interview with Dordeduh (Classic interviews)

1. There have been many rumours about the reasons of your departure from Negura Bunget. You enlightened most of them in your official statement, but could you please explain the whole situation, which caused your leaving from NB?

The main problem was probably the lack of communication and the dishonesty. But we consider that some people did not get the right message out of this, because we never abandoned Negura Bunget, we only ceased collaborating with Negru. We decided to end the activity of the band, not to leave the band, and initially it was a common decision, until Negru decided that he had the right to continue the activity of the band without us. We chose to end our collaboration with Negru because he was self centered and he ended by becoming a stranger from us, having different interests, different purposes to achieve that were not really related to the spirit of Negura Bunget. The ridicule and the absurdity of Negru`s choice to continue with the band is emphasized by the fact that he grew apart from us. We believe in a musical and esoterically based community, even if it was formed by 3 person. We try to imprint our beliefs in the new project: Dordeduh.

2. How does it feel, when you are forced to leave the band you helped to create, the band on which you and Hupogrammos had probably the most influence?

Honestly, I felt myself betrayed. I never expected this end. For us it was a normal thing to fully trust each other; and it seems that in the end he abused of our trust, turning it against us. I remember the time when we were on the top of the mountain, filming for the material that was included on the DVD for OM album, when a thunder storm began and Negru broke his leg. A serious part of the road had been washed away by the storm and we had to park our car very far from the point were the shooting took place. Negru's injury was an extremely serious one and he was not able to step on that leg anymore. carried him 20Km to the place where we parked the car. His gesture was seen by us as a normal thing to do and none of us really questioned this kind of gesture because we were 100% committed to each other.
The highest sign of appreciation towards us was his decision to break the promise, invalidate our common agreements and disrespect us. I believe that he is the last person who should continue with Negura Bunget.. And today he is in command of everything in that band... surrounded by persons who do everything out of inertness. From my point of view, Negura Bunget ended its activity.

3. How did the fans react to this? Whose side do they take mostly?

I think most of they are confused. Some of them already knew who Negru was and they considered the departure a natural step, some of them simply felt that something is not quite right about this person, but most of them don't really know what to believe and I'm really sorry that things have degenerate this way. I am aware that a public scandal is not the most elevated way to react and isn`t in harmony with the spirit that Negura Bunget was promoting; but at the same time we can't continue being silent. We covered up too many things for this person and spent too many years. I think people need to know that the people who decided to continue under the name of Negura Bunget have nothing in common with Negura Bunget; first of all because Negura Bunget wasn't about the persons, it wasn't a personal business nor a proper place to exhibit any kind of egocentricity.
I think time will tell and will correct all things.

4. It seems that your ex-label Code666 is on Negru’s side. What do you think about that?

I labeled it first of all as a business. If some label managers still have a soul, that's a huge advantage, but it still remains a business. They invested in Negura Bunget and of course, they are interested into the gain that the business brings. If supposedly they are on our side, would they be so altruistic to loose all the money just to follow a supposed 'right path' of impeccability?

5. Let’s proceed to your new project called Dordeduh. What are your visions with it?

The goal is to continue what we started with Negura Bunget. We still have a lot to express; there's a new album coming soon and I'm sure that this new material will touch the human soul even more deep than everything we ever made.

6. So should we expect notable musical similarity to Negura Bunget?

I think it’s inevitable. There will be similarities, since we were the main composers of the band. Musically and even conceptually things will be more clear, this being a natural development after the OM album.

7. Are you planning to perform live with Dordeduh in the future?

Yes. We are planning some gigs for the end of this year and maybe even a small tour. The live set list will be composed of a couple of songs composed in Negura Bunget period, but also some new songs that will be included in the next album.
For us the contact with the audience is really important because we believe that on a live event people can see and especially feel the persons behind the music. With a minimal focus effort I think everybody with a bit of honesty can easily receive the authenticity of a band; and you can feel their receptiveness also on stage and that's the ingredient for the next step .... when we are propelled further by the audience ... and so on. This way, you can create a unique chemistry that may become alchemy.

8. After all that has happened, could you imagine you would play with Negura Bunget on one festival, one stage?

Hypothetically I could do that; because everything is about overcoming and clearing the path of the past, but this will never happen.
