1. Hails! How are you today? You have 7 EP ´Black Clouds Over Dark Majesty´ just out, and you´re in planning of the new album in year 2006. What can you tell to listeners about both releases?

Hails, I‘m quite ok these days, actually... Winter has come to Poland so there are a lot of inspirations around. Yeah, the 7EP has been released on German Christhunt Records and it contains the stuff from 1997. It‘s MCD called Black Clouds Over Dark Majesty and it was released years back by Old Legend Productions on a tape and Ancestral Research Records (RIP) as a split CD with KATAXU. I always wanted to release this stuff on a fucking cult piece of vinyl as it still means much to me and the time has come at last... Also some new THUNDERBOLT-listeners/fans can be more familiar with our older stuff with this EP. It‘s limited to 500 hand numbered copies, so hurry up. As for the new album: we‘re entering the studio on 24rd of February and we‘ll record probably 10 brand new songs. Expect pure fucking black metal inferno.

2. It´s about year, since Inhuman Ritual Massmurder was released. What is your view on this CD now? Is there anything you´d like to change now, after some time?

I don‘t think so. The sound of the guitars and drums should be more intense, I think but that‘s just a detail really. We‘re still satisfied with IRM; and that‘s the most important thing.

3. Your lyrics are focused on the war and satanic themes. Where do you usually take an inspiration?

Sometimes we find some inspirations in life itself and our own views, experiences etc... The lyrics of THUNDERBOLT express our feelings, fascinations, interests, ideology... We care much about it. Our lyrics have to create an evil atmosphere along with the music. Pure blasphemy!


4. Let us we stay in ´lyrical area´. There´s widely developing NSBM scene in Poland those who are still focused in Satanic themes, are in minority now. What is the reason according to you? Do you think it´s trendy, to be NSBM? Do you think, people are weak in their own opinions, or it´s the problem in Satanism itself in fact, that it couldn´t offer nothing more to human?
How do you feel with policy in music? Which was your own first contact with Satanism?

I don‘t care about it. You are right, there are lots of kids around which think they are evil; because they are NS or something while they even don‘t understand what they are talking about... I think that‘s pure bullshit when someone mix any social shit with the ideology of black metal which is far beyond any human problems... I think that they can‘t find their own way in life and that‘s their main problem. They are slaves of the only one right ideology, and way of thinking. They‘re like troop of sheeps. We‘re individuals and we follow our own way in life and we don‘t need anyone to think instead of us. Satanism means self-development and individualism. I‘m my only lord and I do what I think is right for me. I am the reflection of nature of the beast. I follow my own dark path through life...

5. You´re opening the 13th year of band´s existence. It´s really long time, since you have started with Thunderbolt, isn´t it? What are your memories?

I remember that the scene was much more serious when we‘ve joined it. There was strong brotherhood between the bands, everyone supported each other and we had been involved in the black metal idology and activity... Now there is so much shit around, all these crappy polite and ideologically correct bands that has nothing in common with black metal... We have nothing in common with this. The spirit of ancient black metal still burns in our hearts!

6. Three terms: black metal; ideology, image. Can you see any relationship or.. connection between them? What´s your own philosophy or ideology? And what´s the ideology of THUDERBOLT?

Black metal can‘t exist without specific idology, attitude. Image is just another thing. We have no image, we just do what we feel is right for us. We use corpse-paint, leather, chains, bullets, spikes because it‘s the only way we see black metal should be. That‘s individual thing in every band anyway. Our ideology is Satanism, misanthropy, death...


7. Stable line-up how much is it important for the keeping band in work and progress? I know, that your line-up is relatively stable, in last few years? Who´s the kind of leader in THUNDERBOLT, man with catchword?

We have no lider but most of people see THUNDERBOLT as my band just because I was the founder. The stable line-up is extremely important for our band because only with this our music can be more precised and thoughtful... We can rehearse and that‘s fucking important. Undoubtedly, we can create more blasphemous and evil stuff only with a stable line-up than without it. It‘s also important because we can spread total live terror.

8. Are you satisfied with the work which Agonia Records do for you? I mean promotion, tours etc. Would you like to stay under their wings in next years?

This label was good when we started our co-operation back in 2003/2004. Now we‘re deffinitely not satisfied with Agonia and we‘ve decided to leave it. Our next album will be released on German label Christhunt Productions. Check out our website for further news etc.

9. I can feel influences of thrash metal in the music of THUNDERBOLT. What´s your attitude towards the old-good bands like SODOM, KREATOR and EXODUS? Which bands do you listen to? Tell us about your favourite groups, choose from all the world, please.

I‘ve been raised with the music of DEEP PURPLE, BLACK SABBATH, PINK FLOYD etc. because my father was fan of those bands and I loved hard music already in my childhood. Yeah, I‘m a fucking maniac of old thrash/heavy metal stuff and for sure you can find some influences in THUNDERBOLT‘s music. 10. How do you feel with live performances? Which band would you like to meet with - on one stage?

It‘s great feeling when we have possibility to spread some Satanic propaganda, hate, violence and evil during our live desecrations. We would like to meet some fucking christian bands on one stage and to bathe it with their blood.


11. It was first announced that THUNDEBOLT should appears on this summer´s Open Hell Festival (in July); what was the reason of your absence? There were many people looking forward to your gig!

We wanted to play there too! That was NOT our fault! The organizer just wimped out because some assholes spread rumors that THUNDERBOLT is a nazi band or whatever. Fucking bullshit. I believe we‘ll have an opportunity to come to your land and spread blasphemy, terror and desecration. Any serious gig organizers - get in touch!

12. My favourite release is also demo called ´Beyond Christianity´. I love ´The Vampire´ song, it reminds me Mutiilation. Song called ´Poland´ captures me with its great atmosphere! Your present material is much harder and heavier than older,don´t you ever wanted to grow up in FOREST (old!), CELTIC atmosphere and slow down with brutality?

Well...Our every stuff just reflects our feelings which accompanied us during composing several songs. We felt that; Inhuman Ritual Massmurder; must be brutal and violent and that was just natural. Our new album will be more atmospheric yet still violent, brutal and dark... We never plan that our next album must be more brutal or more atmospheric etc.

13. Non-ttraditional question, if you don´t imind, off course. What´s your daily programme, timetable, or how your usual day looks? Do you wear black dress, pentagrams etc, or are you ´normal human´ with everything which belongs?

I‘m not „normal human“. I‘m not part of this fucking society! I have normal job, I work in a copper smelter placed near the town where I live as the welder because I need some money to survive in this world of shit but; yes of course; I wear black clothes, leather, spikes everyday etc.

14. What´s the origin of THUNDERBOLT´s name?

I‘ve been always enthralled with the might of the storm, its devastating power... That was the reason why ve chose the name THUNDERBOLT.
