1. Welcome! How do you feel just now? Have you good days or stress ?
Everything is going quite well. We had a occult release ceremony for the album this weekend, and it was brilliant. The gig went well, and we're very satisfied with the audience. It was a worthy evening.
2. CD „An Eternal Dark Horizon“ is out after for years your´s hard work. What kind of feedback have you got until now for “ „An Eternal Dark Horizon“ ? How were the reactions of zine, fans, press etc.? Do you care about the reactions?
The feedback has been overwhelming this far. Lots of great reviews, lots of interviews and lots of attention to the band. It is good to see that others share our view of True Black Metal, even though we would not change anything if they weren't.
3. What do you think about people, which writeing reviews? What kind of reviews do you prefer? Very critical or susceptible?
I don't reflect much over the reviews. If I see one I read it, but I don't keep this in mind when writing music. The music is meant for me and Vardalv, we write music for ourselves.
4. Are you satisfied with the recordings and final version yours CD? I think, than your music is very agressive, but very fresh too. What do you want to communicate with your sound? The sound is a mix of old black metal face and your new face, right?
I took care of most of the recordings and the production part myself, in good company with Stein Sund of Black Dimension Studio. I'm very satisfied with the sound, and feel that we have succeeded in making a strong and intensive sound, yet atmospheric, cold and grim. This album turned out just the way we wanted it. The sound is very important for our music, and it would be totally wrong to do a gigantic production on this album. I were looking for a sound that was much more like the early 90ies, though with our own touch. There is not too much depth in the sound scape , and the guitars and the vocals are very aggressive. Strong compositions combined with strong and true feelings makes a convincing result. Most of the album where recorded at the first take in the studio, and I believe that this might be some of the reason why the albums feels so real, or organic. Vardalv used one weekend doing the drum part, and the rest was recorded during different sessions, which might have been another factor for our sound. We got to distance ourselves from the music, and when we came back we heard easily what had to be changed to get the sound we were looking for.
5. The name „An Eternal Dark Horizon“ is quite easy to explain, still things dont have to be as easy seen as the first sight tells. What concept is hidden in the new thing, are the tracks some follow-ups of any way,are they about one story or better, particular feelings, ideas...?
The title is a picture of what death will be like, or more correctly; the time between life and death. This is the journey your soul travels when dying, and your reach an never ending horizon, completely dark; and this is the Death. So the title means Death. The lyrics on this album involve subjects like strong blasphemy, occult rituals, the amazing winters of Norway and our nature, together with ancient devil worshipping. But the theme that combines all of these different subjects is Death; life just before dying, the death itself, and "the other side"; what comes after death, and this is where the title of the album comes from. Two of the songs completes a concept, the title track can be looked upon as a part two of the song called "Symbols Of Winter".

6. A typical aspect of THRONE OF KATARSIS music is aiming at longer compositions. It is understandable if there is a lot of stuff but arent you afraid of making your listeners bored after some time of listening? What is your recipe to think out your songs long and entertainig at the same time? It is quite a tough thing in the "ordinary" black metal area...
This is a part of our songwriting, as the song develops we get an idea of which elements the song should contain, which then again leads to this long running-time. So far this has turned out great, and we see that our newest songs for the next album are in the same vein, long and cold. When making such long track you get opportunity to add more feelings into the music, you get to build the atmosphere in a different and stronger way. When writing songs we never care what the audience might think, live or on the album.
7. Vocals on your CD are very various. Tell us about your's vocals? How was the recording vocals? Long, tiring or not?
The vocals were done without any problems, I knew just how it was supposed to be in the end. I like to use different vocals to tell different subjects, or feelings. This is also a way of making the atmosphere more dynamic.
8. Contract with Candlelight rec. is very prestigious. Are you satisfied with the support and promotion of Candlelight rec.? So has there been any label interest so far? What will be the next step for THRONE OF KATARSIS?
There where several other interested labels in contact with us, but we felt that Candlelight had the best opportunity to spread our music, and to combine this with future touring etc. They are also a very stable label, and that's very important to us as well.
9. Do the band members have other jobs besides playing music?
There's no chance of make a living out of music at this point.
10. On your´s promo fotos, you have scythe in your hands very often. Have you some special ralition to that tool? Do you know LJAA band?
I know Ljaa. The reason the scythe is used is because of the subject/ theme on this album; Death.

11. …and what´live show? Did you have a tour yet? Or you planning?
We hope to do some touring soon, but there is no concrete plans yet.
12. What can we expect from THRONE OF KATARSIS in the future? And what dreams for the future do you got?
We're planning on going into Black Dimension Studio this summer. We're deep into the next album already, and so far it sounds brilliant! Lots of new creative stuff together with the basis we've established works perfectly. The lyrics is still blasphemic and cold, and both in English and Norwegian. This time Vardalv has joined in with the lyric writing too, and this works excellent! Other that that there will be gigs and maybe some touring. We'll see.
13. What means metal to you?
Black Metal is our lifestyle, our way of life .
14. Your favorites in music... True Norwegian Black Metal
15. Ok. Our questions are over. Your last words?
Hyll Det Evige Mørket!
