1. Greets into really far… I like your last album „Pestilential Shadows“ very much, it doesn´t go about something special, but I appreciate atmosphere. How do you stay to „Cursed“? As I see on last line-up of band, I mean, that it slowly gets decay…
Pestilential Shadow’s new full length album „Cursed“ was written and recorded in the decomposing year of 2006, mainly by its creator and ill child Balam, i only contributed my infection on a few songs and other areas of this recording, your observation regarding line up changes is correct. But these matters are best explained by other members and not by myself. But i can reveal that Pestilential Shadows is creating another offering of bile and filth for this wretched existence, Time will tell when it will be available.
2. „Drown in Solitude“ is album, which fills man with emptiness, it presses to speculate, though is full of emotions. Your debut acts on me throughout visionary, it´s very unique „romance“ about human´s soul…Did you pass in last years thru any inside revial, did you change your posture to any things? Do facts and today´s world cast you down more than before now? Wasn´t any inside change also the reason to create Funeral Mourning?
Funeral Mourning’s debut album „Drown in Solitude“ represents to me the suffering of „existing“ in this carcass of a world, Hence why i created it to rid my being of sorrow and agony, given that i am aware that the day you were forced into this vile world, you had the hand of death upon your shoulder, it will be with you until the end, and nothing will make it go away.
3. You belong to one of that bands, which in my opinion couldn´t compose extremly long songs. Lengths to ten minutes are sufficient for your impression thru Funeral Mourning. You have ideas, so you can use it in more songs…Do you agree? What do you prefer? Now also in the future…
If a song to me feels it should be long, then it should be created that way, i have nothing against long songs as it traps you in its claws and offers no escape, if a song has the potential to create a deathlike coma, then i think it should be created, but i do not create songs with a time limit in mind and i have no desire to create more songs for the sake of doing so, whatever i feel is suffecient is how it will be carved into the listeners flesh.
4. Into debut you put many feelings and music has many faces, though it holds stout lines. Do you try to tell anything to listeners or you to draw them in and leave they devour in misery, which you created?
Any atmosphere that the material has created for the listener is fine, as this creation is for me to rid my rotten soul of things i feel i need to, So if i am showing the listener anything, im revealing my waves of depression and misery.
5. Melodies…one of the basic things by Funeral Mourning, in my opinion. Thank you, that you don´t belong to that bands, which create noise and drone, behind that nothing hides..What is your opinion on debut? Are you satisfied with it or you search „bugs“, which you would clear in the next time? Do you perceive responses from surround, knowns…?
There are things about the debut i would have now rather have changed, but this is the past, any progression will be natural, and hopefully these weaker points that i consider, will be evened out in future recordings/material, Given the fact that this is a personal journey, i want to do it right. And over time, the material will evolve into what i feel it should.
6. I would say, that „Drown in Solitude“ is many more doom metal than black metal album, your opinion? By the way, do you like soundtracks? Because I could Funeral Mourning name as some soundtrack, listening, when people don´t need nothing than privacy…
I would say if i had to, that Funeral Mourning has both Black and Doom elements involved, but genre’s dont concern me really, well for my own creation anyway, as who knows what will happen on the next recordings? It may head in more of a black metal directions or even doom? I have really no idea at this stage. Until the time is right for me to begin new recordings, Ill just let it float in time. I like the freedom you obtain with music writing...Music is art, an audial way of painting a picture.

7. In one song you cooperated with Lurker (Vrolok, and so on..), are you good friends? Do you know yourselves personally or only thru net? Do you plan in the future next suprises – with guests? By the way, „Resurgence III: Order of the Sphere“ is unreal disillusion from my view…
Yes, You are correct, Lurker and i are in contact through the internet and i asked him if he would be interested to share his view in a song, i believe he did a great job on „Your Waters“. I have no plans in the future for guests musicians for further material, but im not against it, if there is a song or section that could really use someone else’s ideas, then the results can turn out great, new/fresh ideas are always good, Repeating yourself isnt the best thing to do.
8. I purpose, that you recorded all instruments at home, quiet, without time pressure and by your own needs. Do you have in advance clear visions about songs or you put it finishing according to riffs, which depends you…? Do you have any specificity in composing?
Yes, all music is written by myself in isolation, i have a few advance ideas regarding structures and riffs, but nothing is ever final, as quite often ideas turn out differently when recording and some re-arrangements are made. So i find the best way to record a song is to just give the song what it needs, i have no special structures that i stick to.
9. If we see on the cover, what it could symbolize? From my view it can go of imaginary world´s ruler, which holds some picture in his hand, that picture symbolizes that things, which embrace today´s world – ruin, death,…
Yes i would agree with you, this world is full of decay and it is dead. And my reason for using such a picture is that.
10. Does that idea, what is „nothing“, fascinate you? What succedes life, after that sector, which you have clear-cup between civilization? Do you often think about death? Could you kill yourself? Optionally interupe time, which you have on this world? I think, it´s vituperation…I´m against suicides in principle…
I would’nt say it fascinates me, i have just accepted it. I do think about death and how much this dissolutioned world should be introduced to it, and all people should be the same. Regarding suicide, I see no problem with someone taking their own life, if they feel they have accomplished everything they feel they need to, why not? And i guess in turn, your question of „could i kill myself“ has been answered.
11. Bands like Funeral Mourning, Pestilential Shadows, Elysian Blaze, Abyssic Hate or Drowning the Light create similar music, the biggest comparsion with your creation I see in Elysian Blaze. Is Australia really that country, witch unwittingly forces to composing this music style? Does your motherland belong to that modern lands, where is style, mode, advertising and business in the first place?
I will say that Australia has produced some great music over time, and the bands i support know who they are, sometimes i wonder what the future will reveal for australian bands...its quite fickle here...
12. What places do you find bigger solace and space to meditation in – in the nature or between four walls?
Both, Nature is un-touched beauty, and offers a great place to be alone and think etc.. But this man made concrete cell, is dark and suffocating, Infecting me with misery, so you see they are both a form of „meditation“ as one triggers misery which is something i use, and the other to calm it, some kind of balance i spose.

13. Your music is full of deep emotions, which open gates to receptive listener´s soul. We just speak about suicide, so I would like to ask you, how do you stay to love and friendship?
Friendship is something that is quite hard to come across, for many reasons, but different views and concepts can help as they open the eyes to how this world works. So it is importaint.
14. Surely you listen to similar music, which you create. But do you like also other music styles, which are far from metal? If yes - which ones?
I mainly listen to black and doom metal, some ambient also, but not alot, but i am open, there is alot of music out there that sheds light on different feelings / ideas etc... People find interest in many things and express it as their interpretation...
15. And what about unmusical forms of art? Favourite writers, visual arts…? Is there any historical personality, which you rarely appreciate?
There is some artist‘s work that i understand and appreciate, i do feel visual artwork is just as importaint as audial... Anything dark and carries a message, is apealing to me.
16. It depends me question, which you don´t have to answer, if you don´t like…What is your opinion on dope?
Strange question, Well my opinion on it is impartial, I dont realy have any opinion on it, If you wish to use it and ruin yourself, then i support that.
17. Sincerely thank you for your readiness and patience, which you devoted to my questions. Possibly this interview brought you something and it´s natural notice of your soul…Give wallabies our regards, hehe…
In Darkness, Solitude and Negativity...
