1. Hail Sternenfrost! On the beggining of the interview I want to request that you will intruduce Wedard to the readers of Mortem zine. Few words about history of a band too, please.

Hail! Wedard starts playing Black Metal in the end of 2002, until this date, some demos, 2 Full-Length, 2 Split´s and 1 EP are out... Since this time I make everything self, only the drums are sometimes by a session member...

2. I´ll be honest that I know only "Einsamer Winterweg", which catched me with it´s beutiful but sometimes also cruel athmosphere. What is new about Wedard in these days?

„Einsamer Winterweg“ has an very cold & mysterious atmosphere, in future it will be „warmer“ and again more melancholic! No more I cant say, because I still work for the new full length...

3. I know that not long ago the EP "Eiskrieg" was released. Does it follows the same path as its predecessor, or you chosed some other musical way?

It´s colder & faster, as the other two Full-Length´s, and I startet recording the EP directly after finishing „Einsamer Winterweg“, October 2006 ca.! And the firs time, you hear complete clear vocals by one song in this EP...Was a wish from me, since long time...;)

4. As I know, you are composing and recording music all by yourself. I´m interested where you getting inspiration for composing. I feel nature here but also helplessness and pain...

Some acts in life, nature, dreams...this are my inspiration...nothing more to say about this, you will ever hear 100% of myself!

5. What about lyrics? For me, it is a really important part of music...what can be read from yours lyrics?

I never released lyrics, but I can tell you, its about desolate landscapes, fading life, emptiness, dreams, and some bad infections from life!

6. Paganism and satanism...How do you look on those two "ideologies"? Do you believe in something? If yes, in what?

Satanism is nothing for me, Wedard will never make something about this themes...and paganism? My contact to nature isnt paganism, I go my own way and „trends“ are not important for me...my believe? In a god...yes...but in a god they understand my way of life...

7. There are a lot of bands in a black metal scene that are denying concert playing. Do you think that at gig playing, the original athmosphere of the music is lost? Is Wedard just studio project or you also play live?

It´s not easy to play so long songs live and the genre I play, the atmosphere & the feeling to bring out to the fans is hard...but I´ll play live in 2008/09...a few concerts...you will hear about it.


8. What music do you listen to in you free time and albums of which bands you are listening most? Do you listen only to black metal or there is a place for other (non) metal genres?

Black Metal is my main genre, but sometimes I listen to ambient or other genres! Blut aus Nord – Ultima Thuleê will ever be my favourite album...the atmosphere & the mysterious on this album are so fucking great!

9. Are you observing german scene? Which german bands took you up lately?

A little bit, we have some good bands, like Selvmorrd, Todtgelichter, Mökriket, but I have no time and interested to listen to every new band...

10. Do you like literature? Is there a writer whose books fascinates you?

Not directly, some sci-fi books and some books about astronomie...

11. Not a long time ago, news from poland flashed around the world. "Polish staff for prevention from sects" said that the bands which are "propagating satanism" will not be allowed to play in poland. What is your opinion on this bullshit and on more and more rising power of church in the world?

I´m not a satanism band, so I dont care about... I´m not interested to be a part of „War“ against Christianity...

12. How do you imagine the future of Wedard? Do you think it will last for a long time? Do you still have enough musical ideas? Are you composing music for a fans or just for yourself?

Well, I told you, I work for a new full length and I still go the way I choosed since 2002! I have enough ideas, but I will keep on the tradtion of Wedard...The music is for me, but It´s great to offer it... When somebody tell me, he/she like my music, I´m glad and go on with my work...Nothing more, nothing less..
