1. I don´t know if you remember as good as me, that from you I got e-mail with informations about group and possibility to listen some demos came to me...It´s good to see that some group won´t stand and just waiting that someone find them,but also finding too...An even if it is almost two years I must thank you at the begginig of interview.

Ave, it’s an honor for us. Up to date, we had no interview with a Czech magazine yet. We don’t know if there are people in the Czech Republic, listen to our stuff. So it’s a good possibility for us to make people aware of us.

2. Now already to the most actual, the new album. I recognize, it was strike from blue sky for me.You changed a term of your music a lot and now you connecting more melodic lines and even a acoustic parts, which supplying Imperium Dekadenz with magnificient.I would say, that you sound more proffesional. Do you agree, or in case that no, tell me your opinion and how you view music on new album?

You are absolutely right! We sound more professional on our new disc. We invested lots of money and also time in some new recording equipment. We had more time to improve the songs. You know we are just a two-man band. So the writing process is different to a five-man band or one-man band. We think when we are going to investigate so much in our most recent hobby, we should have a worthy presentation of our work.

3. The sound and total production goes pretty up.You have given rest almost with every detail, and it is know in produce. It was natural step for you or do you simply enthrone change on test or thanks reactions of fans?

You must see our first disc as a very first step, with the combination Vespasian/ Horaz. We had never expected that “…und die Welt ward kalt und leer” will interest so many people. The responses were overwhelming! But we got also some criticital words. These criticisms we tried to handle in a more professional way. Constructive criticisms are very important for us. So you can understand “Dämmerung der Szenarien” as an one on one- improvement to the first disc.
But that dramatic, melancholic und cold core in our music we will always keep in our arts. We think that’s the essence of IMPERIUM DEKADENZ.

4. In compliance with informations you both participate on guitar play.Would you tell, who was more impulsive and active?It´s so, that every one from you concentrate on other things, or did you compose music as it´s come.

The fact is that we really share the guitar play in fivty-fivty parts. The main ideas for a song always comes from one of us. The other one brings up new or better ideas. It’s always a long way until we are pleased with the result. Important is that the main idea of a new song can touch our hearts und souls. But we have different playing styles.
Vespasian likes more melodies and leads and doomy parts. I am the one wich plays the more raw stuff, wich is an mixture of old skandinavian BM-stuff and typical german BM-stuff. So we meet us in the middle. The result is a special one, wich gives us a well earned place in the Black Metal „Scene“.


5. It´s in Imperium Dekadenz something, what´s special and specific for you?I think by it, if you have another stance to philosophy of group, to mentioned composing, propagation,etc..? I interfere now with, what would you differ from other black metal groups.

Sure, we have not invented a new kind of music, but we think that we carry a special spirit. As I already mentioned, it is the combination of Vespasian and Horaz that gives them all a special taste, but there are also some explicite details. We can not define them all because we don’t really know them all, we just feel it. We listen to metal music for so many years, but also Classic, Folk and Rock Music, we developed an very spread music and art taste. Black Metal is our favorite music stile, but you can hear the other influences, too. The passion we get for our music, as all the other musicians, is from many daily life impressions. Our philosophy is just staying authentic to ourselves.

6. It crossing my mind... A lot of groups is making promo photos for most of their albums. They should logically mirror group in specific mood. In what mood is now Imperium Dekadenz?

IMPERIUM DEKADENZ is our elexier of life beyond our insignificant daily work. Our first thought in the morning is music, also the last one in the evening. We can’t express this mood with a photo. But maybe you can feel it when listening the music and watching the artwork. So our mood is just the passion to that music, what it gives us, how it leads us through our lifes. We have no special topic, as satan, ancient gods or politics. It´s black art in and over the borders of Black Metal. We express our yearnings, hate and melancholy in topics like murder, hedonism, epic or historical stuff, loss, war, decay or death...

We have no need to shock someone, witch extrem brutal pictures or lyrics. We love the subtle. What doesn´t mean that we don’t like those cult artworks like EISREGEN or BELPHEGOR etc. using it. But it doesn’t fit to IMPERIUM DEKADENZ.

7. Out of music...it´s for you, as group, important, so that you´ll be present in high quality also in graphic?Do you think that is important nowdays?

Of course! The booklet can tell you more about the music, supporting feelings in a visual way. We think Metal is one of the last bastions in the music market, where people often buy the original CD instead of downloading it. Why? Because it’s important for them to have also a visual impression and loving it as an whole artwork.

8. What Imperium Dekadenz and lyrics? Is this very important thing for you or do you give precedence to music and didn´t think about texts too much? Groups trying philosophize more and more, but basically they entwine to words, which they sometimes didn´t understand at all...In what themes are you moving?

The lyrics are important for us. Beside the music and the booklet, lyrics are the third possibility for us to communicate with the listener. Lyrics transport the opinion of a band, underline their music. We try to underline the character of each song with the lyrics. It is not important for us that people do understand what we mentioned with it. It’s important that they can have any imagination in combination with the music, lyrics and artwork! We want the listener make a kind of journey through his own pictures in his mind. Our lyrics are just a light to find a way. We spoke about the topics, two questions before.


9. You are two...Which prevent you to play live. Aren´t you interested in concersts, opportunity of confrontation music directly with fans? Expansion of line-up at least for season musicians, it´s possible or not?

It is possible and at the moment we try to find some mercenaries for live attacks. Because our region is not very well equipped with good musicians, wich also want to play Black Metal, we had a lot of problems to find some. Since a few weeks we have some guys wich are interested in playing for us.

10. To end of interview, it should be good to say wha is your plans to the future.What we can wait to see, sign surprise, show way...

We are also looking for a new label at the moment. We don’t want to keep the work with Perverted Taste any longer. The next album will hopefully be release at the end of 2008. We will improve the Sound and try to find a new way to involve our acoustic and atmospheric parts into the album. The stile will stay the same, maybe more fast parts.
