Recorded & mixed at Echoes Studio and mastered at Stage One Studio, "Desecrated Internal Journey" will be released on October 30th via Debemur Morti Productions. Here's a track-by-track review from the band : Facing the Abyss is the introduction of the album. It deals with the state of mind of the traveler on the edge of a long journey, trying to mentally prepare for the trials that lie ahead. It consists of electronic parts alternating with extracts from Schoenberg’s KlavierStücke. They stand for the fears arising when beginning a journey which is known to be dangerous. It ends with a crescendo meaning that the first step has been taken. A Step into the Void is like diving into a black hole leading to somewhere unknown. The first part is violent and dissonant,like a brain exploding when receiving too many new sensations. Here begin the attacks of madness that won't stop until the very end. Hence, the journey is beforehand internal, for the real destination is our true identity, in front of which we cannot lie. It is this acceptance of a constant madness that is pictured in the second part, slower and more desperate: for someone to confront himself and his own demons is courageous, but what we get from this is rarely what we were looking for. At the Threshold. Consciousness tries to escape when having to face such trials. It tries to justify what cannot be justified and to hide every anomaly under a pile of comfortable normality. When the image in the mirror is not what we want it to be, then the mirror is wrong. The last movements of the dying consciousness are pictured here by the mix of slow and fast parts. The Worm. This piece refers to the journey itself in which the dialog that has begun is described by the two voices answering each other (I am the worm / You are born-dead / I am the plague / I bleed your hate). This aspect is underlined by the instruments which play cascades of notes. Some battle phases (Your life is worthless, can't you see, under your skin lies nothing but me) alternate with acceptance (Our two merging entities shall become one deity). Unconscious Evocation of a Neverending Search. In such a battle, there can be neither a winner nor a loser, only a new level of consciousness - or maybe just a new point of view on ourselves. This is this new state that is described here. All that remains is a new being trying to understand what he is, thus beginning a new internal journey. Here is the never-ending search. The Sore of Creation. Always deeper, always further to strange landscapes that cannot be put in words. The surrounding chaos is described by the changing melodies that are exchanged between the instruments. The madman knows he is sick because the way he looks at the world has changed. There's no turning back. From these developments arise new possibilities. A new field of research has been reached. No Dreams. Is this the end of the journey? No, this is just a new stage. Where will we have the courage to go? How to know that the bottom has been reached? This piece, divided into two parts, investigates musically and intellectually the two paths that a spirit looking at itself can take: more introspective and darker in order to investigate this new state of mind; or more complex and accepting the changes in order to keep on going down, which was the initial goal.
