I am saying hello to Brazil! At beginning wanna pay homage to your new album and it is a true that in every corner of underground in Czech it was taken with enthusiasm and there was real success of it. Please, can you tell more about this album and your group personally?

I made Thy Light, just for me hear, at my home… trying to put in my music, everything I needed and haven’t ever found in other bands or musicians. Some friends heard it and said me… release it, you can’t be selfish and private your music from the other Suicidal People around the world… so I decided to spread my suicidal propaganda to every humanshit around this world.

2. There was a information that before demo „Suici.De.Pression“ exists one another track called „The Call of the Dark Forest“, but this one was never released. Say me why? Was there any problem with sound or quality of that track or there some another private reason you decided not to release it?

The call of the dark forest, was a Black Metal demo, that used to sounds like Emperor, or some melodic Black Metal bands. When i decided to get out of blast beats and make just down-tempo musics... i got rid of all this musics and made new songs turning Thy Light into a DSBM band... one of the firsts here at Brazil.

3. When I am thinking about the name of your album and also about the names of your songs it, they are related with the way you present the band. It is possible to assume what about are your lyrics. But it is remarkable that you are creating all the music but the most personal, lyrics, are made but someone another…

Yes. The lyrics of the first demo “Suici.De.pression” were made by a close friend, Alex. I always hated literature and languages, I HATE writing, I’m not good with words and always try to say something and say other things… so I prefer to express myself through music and feelings… through music I’m sure that I don’t commit mistakes with my sentiments. Alex use to write the lyrics of a Funeral Doom Brazilian band called Abske Fides. He’s very great with texts, so I asked him, if he could write the lyrics, because we have the same kind of thoughts. I give him the themes of the musics, and he writes about it. I just mande the title of the Albums.

4. And there is natural question about your work in the future. Are you creating some new material or maybe another demo, split or already debut album? What we can look for from your side?

I’m thinking in do a full length album soon, but I have other band, wich I play guitars and do the vocals… we play a lot live, here at Brazil and we’re preparing to record our new album, so I don’t have time to dedicated with Thy Light because I work and study all the week. But I’m preparing a split with Gisâtre and soon it’ll be available… I guess.

5. In your music there is possible to perceive strong influence of classical music, what indicate that you are able to play all the instruments yourself unlike another musicians making the same music like you. How long are you interesting in music from the view of playing, listening and creating?

My grandfather was a pianist. I use to hear music since I was a baby. I always heard classical music, my grandfather gave me a collection of LP’s called “Masters of Music”, it’s something like 50 LPs of composers like Beethoven, Vivaldi, Bach, Schubert, Verdi, Mozart etc… I begun at Metal when I was 8, I bought “The Graveyard” a King Diamond album and after that I started to listen to Black Metal. I play since I was 10, but I studied music just when I was 15, studied it for 6 months and stoped. Now I play by my ears, I love to play classical music, but i can’t play every classical music I want, I’m not able to do that.
The first band I played was called Artroze, I was 13/14 years old and played guitars and vocals. It was a band like Carcass, something like old School Splatter. Now I’m 20 years old and play on Thy Light and a Death/Black Metal band called Desdominus.


6. I suppose that your inspiration is growing very near to you maybe just in you, if you are drawing from the hatred to the world all around you. Maybe this was the motivation for establishing the band Thy Light, the majestic vehicle for expression and venting of negative statement to yourself and all around you what you don’t like.

Yes, the inspiration of Thy Light is the ignorance of the human race, and my hate towards it’s ignorance, materialism, hypocrisy and the most important… my admiration towards nature.

7. Depression, melancholy, suicide, negativity and another similar “hobbies” are meeting you in every second of your life. How you offset your existence in something so disgusting and loathsome like the life is?

I’m not into depression and melancholy a lot... i learned to turn my sadness into hate, and release it. Sometimes i become sad, but i see suicide not as a weakness provided by melancholy, but as a expression of power, my power to end my life, destroying any influence of gods, idols, religions etc. I’m my own god, and the owner of my futile life.

8. There is so much fans, which expect so much from your creation…I hope that wont fulfill you slogan "Kill Yourself or Someone you Love..."

I don’t made Thy Light to people become my fans. I don’t care with the opinion of anyone, my music is maded by my feelings, and if someone don’t understand it, i don’t give a fuck! I understand it because i know what i was feeling when i writted each song.
That slogan was taken from a Krieg’s (USA) live Album, and i like it because it shows power, only strong people could killyourself or someone they loved.

9. You are originally from exotic country, which is not very good known in Europe. Europeans know that there is tropical forest, big statue of Christ and there is football the national pride and love it. How was your music received in your country? Are you counting more with foreign fans or you are not interesting in something so shallow like this?

My music is knowed on my country just by people into DSBM (just a very few people). If all the world think that here there’s only this shit of footbaal and tropical forests, they’re ignorant and like i said, i extremelly HATE ignorance.
If you think like that is because you’re too influenced by you TV and Maganize SHIT! Here at Brazil there’s no a Brazilian race... everyone that lives here are EUROPEANS, INDIANS, AFRICANS and AMERICANS etc... that runned out like bitches from their countries, so if Brazil is knowed as a shit country there, blame it on your grandfathers and ancestrals. It’s not my fault if you know just Rio de Janeiro and Amazonia. São Paulo is a big city like any city of the world, like Madrid, Sidney, Tokyo, New York, Helsinki, Gothenburg etc, the same happens with Belo Horizonte, Curitiba, Fortaleza, Goiânia etc, ask it for the bands that played here.... If this ignorant people think i’m lying, search the cities of Brazil on the motherfucking Google. To say that Brazil is just forests and footbal, is the same that say that all women on Czech Rep are pornstars, that on Australia there’s just Cangurus and Koalas, all Americans just eat at MC Donalds, that all chinese people fights Kung Fu, all people from Netherlands uses drugs, all people from Iraq are terrorists, that all Germans are Nazi, that all Finnish is drunk, that all Norwegian are cod catchers, that all French doesn’t take a bath, that all Spanish people likes bullfight etc... it’s IGNORANCE! Don’t generalize.
I hate samba, i hate carnival, i hate football and Fat-booth-woman without boobs.

10. Maybe it is little bit untimely to ask for this, but are you thinking about releasing of your demo Suici.De.Pression in some another kind of medium like vinyl, which is more attractive for the collectors?

Soon it’ll be available on a Full Length album.

11. Certainly it is surprise for you, that you find support in some small European country in the heart of Europe. Do you know something more about Czech except for Trist, your favorite musician, is living here?

Yes, one of my favourite bands is from Czech Rep… it’s Root. But i know just a few bands like Silva Nigra, Maniac Butcher, Nhaavah, Agmen and some more that I don’t remember now… ah, and of course, the Goddess Silvia Saint!


12. I was already speaking about the influence of classical music to your creation. Which composers do you prefer and like?

I like everything that is not composed for religions. I listen a lot to works of Vivaldi, Beethoven, Bach, Nicolo Pagannini, Chopin, Mozart, Stravinsky, Ravn etc… I use to play and listen more classical music than metal music.

13. At your official myspace page is information, that you are a member of two another groups. Should our readers be interesting in them? How is it going in metal scene in your country, does there exist fans and label support?

Fans there’s a lot! I’m just in another group called Desdominus that I’m vocalist and guitarrist. We play Death Metal on the veins of Swendish Death Metal, people says that we sound like Hypocrisy, At the Gates, Dissection, Dismember, The Abyss, etc…
Label support there’s not… there’s a lot of labels but they’re interested only on sell foreign licensed band’s cds. Some labels still distribute Brazilian bands, but just some mainstream bands… they don’t pay the studio to bands record their albuns. I think the only bands that earn money to record are Krisiun and Sepultura.
